PKZ motor protection circuit breaker

Eaton's Moeller series PKZ fuseless motor-protective circuit breakers combine short-circuit and overload protection in a single device. Two versions are available, covering the entire voltage range from 0.1 A to 63 A. And this with only 18 different types, which saves storage space and simplifies project planning. The motor-protective circuit breakers are fully compatible with Eaton’s proven DIL contactor series, and they are therefore ideally suited for use in motor-starter combinations. All accessories, including the integrated auxiliary switches, trip indicators, voltage releases and door coupling rotary handles, can be used for both the PKZM0 and the PKZM4.

  • Hand-operated motor-protective circuit breaker in accordance with IEC/EN 60947-4-1, VDE 0660 Part 102
  • Rotary handle with ON & OFF switch-position indicator
  • If used in conjunction with the appropriate accessories, the circuit breaker can be turned into a main switch or emergency-stop switch in accordance with EN 60204 and/or VDE 0113
  • Isolating characteristics in accordance with IEC/EN 60947-3

  • All setting ranges are short-circuit proof up to 50 kA (400 V)
  • Special IP40, IP55 and IP65 housings offer high levels of protection against direct contact as well as ingress of water and particles; both surface- and flush-mounted enclosures are available.
  • If used in conjunction with surface-mounting and flush-mounting enclosures, main switch and emergency-stop switch applications are also possible

The Push-in terminals enable safe and easy control-panel wiring with just one click – no tools required. This not only speeds up wiring by up to 50 %, but is also much safer thanks to the shock and vibration-resistant terminals. The PKZ motor starters with Push-in terminals stand out for their higher ated current of up to 32 A and the screw-in/Push-in combination option for use with three-phase busbar links.

Ideal for push and impact actuation (pressing or hitting)

The PKZM01 motor-protective circuit breaker for motors up to 25 A is ideal for small machines and other applications where push or impact actuation is the preferred means of operation. In addition, special IP65 and IP40 housings with emergency-stop buttons are also available.

Many applications require an auxiliary contact with different contact configurations for interlocking and signaling. By using a motor starter, however, it becomes possible to implement a more direct, safe and efficient control design.
